Happy Wednesday! For all of those working and summer-schoolin’, keep your head up!! The week is almost over. Sorry for the late guest post – Cambria and I both just got back from traveling, so getting our schedules to match and our emails to make it back and forth was a little hard at first, but no worries! Please keep reading to get to know Cambria and her blog, Oceans.
What’s your blog’s name, and why? I chose the name Oceans for my blog because the ocean is moving, peaceful, and symbolic to me. A variety of emotions can be captured in Oceans, just as the ocean constantly moves and transforms as do each and every one of us. Personally, the ocean is a sign of strength, understanding, peace, and HOME. It symbolizes an adventure, self-understanding, beauty, and passion. It is the strongest force on Earth and has the ability to transform our point of view.
How long have you been blogging? I have been blogging since April 2014 (just over a year), but when I was in seventh grade I got in trouble with my parents for starting a blog using the public library computers, so you could say I’ve had a liking to it since then. My blog solely began as a way to track my adventures study abroad in Florence, Italy and has had the opportunity to expand and grow throughout the last 15 months just as I have.
Fill in the blank: When I’m not blogging, I am… discovering the essence of beautiful adventures, creating wonderful aesthetics, finding endless inspiration, & learning to live in love with God.
What’s one thing about your blog that makes you proud? I am proud of my blog’s ability to establish a voice for itself among travel and lifestyle bloggers and inspire other young adults to get out in the world and experience it while still furthering education.
Those who read Always, S can click over to your blog to find adventure (tons of travel posts, trips, and tips), inspiration & life motivation, an appreciation of beautiful aesthetics, paired with a passion for fitness and health.
Three random facts: 1) When I was five I was so excited to meet Cinderella that I threw up on her…. 2) I had three concussions in a two month period. 3) My car is named Nigel, after Nigel Thornberry from The Wild Thornberries.
Summer must-haves: iPad, iPhone, Canon camera, watermelon & pineapples, running shoes & sports bras, bathing suits, a cute fluffy blue towel to lay out on the beach with, a large blue water bottle, surfboard, leather tote bag, aviator sunglasses, Love Does, Girl Boss, & The Road
If you had to be stranded on a deserted island with one person who would you want that one person to be? My little sister because she inspires me, pushes, and always supports me. She is funny, sweet, and sassy all in one and I think about her every single day. I love supporting her and being there for her and being on a deserted island with her would definitely lead to some interesting and thought provoking conversations.
Furthest you’ve traveled from your home: In miles, the furthest I have traveled from my home in Santa Monica, California is Buenos Aires, Argentina. The furthest I have felt from my home is when I visited Auschwitz, Poland.
Mountains or beach? Growing up I was lucky enough to have mountains on the beach…so can I choose there? Between the two however, the beach will always hold a special place in my heart.
Your dream job? My dream job would to be to serve my country and make a difference in the world through policy and legislation. My dream goal is to create impact through social understanding, communication, and global efforts to live in love and create a world that focuses on lifting each other up.
Who or what inspires you? I am inspired by adventure and living in love. The phrase “Live in Love” launches me toward and inspires me to establish a life filled with love, compassion, understanding, and passion.
Fill in the blank: I can’t stop listening to… American Oxygen by Rihanna…to be honest after I watched the music video I started to tear up a little bit because the song has so many layers and interpretations but is always very fun to listen to.
Your favorite post from your blog: 10 Bucket List Adventures because it is a collaboration of two of my passions- travel and personal discovery.
