Happy Tuesday! I’m back with another guest post from Iesha of LivingLesh.
- What’s your blog’s name, and why?
My blog’s name is LivingLesh. It is in connection with a nickname that most of my closest friends call me. My name is Iesha, but most of the times when an email is sent, people read the first letter as a lowercase ‘L’ and assumed that my name is Lesha. After a lot of frustration that I shared with my friends they took it upon them to make the joke of my name being Lesha stick and now the majority of them call my Lesha or Lesh for short.
- How long have you been blogging?
I originally started blogging when I entered college about five years ago under a different blogger name. Unfortunately, I had to shut down that blog due to unforeseen circumstances and took a half a year off to finish school. I then began this blog about six months ago and now I am attempting to build my reader base back to what my original blog carried.
- Fill in the blank: When I’m not blogging, I am…
When I’m not blogging, I am a full time graduate student and a part time substitute teacher. My undergraduate degree is in Secondary English Education and I am certified to teach in PA. But instead of going right into the working world, I decided to return and get my M.A. in English: Creative Writing because my goal is to not only gain my Ph.D. and become a professor but I also want to complete and publish at least one novel. So, overall, when I am not blogging, I am writing and reading and writing some more.
- What’s one thing about your blog that makes you proud?
I am proud of its development. Even though the blog is fairly new and I am attempting to build something that is somewhat hard. My blog continues to grow and I am entering into new opportunities and gaining new friends and acquaintances in the blogging and small business community.
- Those who read Always, S can click over to your blog to find…
Reviews and opportunities and inner thoughts. As I am expanding, I am opening my blog up to the possibility of guest bloggers and the possibility of combining a blog with another individual to begin building a successful brand and opening up more doors. But the basis is that I will talk about beauty and fashion.
- Three random facts
- I am in the process of publishing academic works to add to my professional CV.
- When I was first entering college, I wanted to teach elementary until I found myself in a 3rd grade classroom and thought that high school was a better option for me.
- I am the middle child of three children and I am the only one to enter and complete college.
- Your summer must-haves
I have to have a perfect beach towel, my Bluetooth speakers, and some fashionable sunglasses. These essential pieces allow me to relax on the beach or in the backyard and look the part of the fashionable person that I strive to be.
- If you had to be stranded on a deserted island with one person who would you want that one person to be?
My grandmother – she is the greatest person that I have ever known. She raised me to be the person that I am today and can always keep me feeling safe with great conversation and the support she gives me. She is also very creative and knows different resources to keep us safe and warm.
- Furthest you’ve traveled from your home
I’ve been to Costa Rica and London – so I would say that the furthest is probably London. I went to London for a study abroad experience to study Shakespeare and attend a play in the Globe Theatre. It was one of the best experiences of my life because the culture and the history there is so unique, especially in conjunction with the literature that was originated in this country. During the time I was there, learning and experience London life, Prince George was born and I was able to see the announcement at Buckingham Palace.
- Mountains or beach?
I prefer the mountains. It is a lot more peaceful and you never have to search for a long time to find a place to set up in a good spot. The mountains aren’t crowded and the sun is not always beating down on you.
- Your dream job
My dream job is to teach English Literature in a top university while having a side profession as a published young adult author who has had books which have been turned into popular movie series.
- Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by my family. My family is large and each individual carries something different connected their past, present, and future. They the most supportive people and I am so fortunate to have them cheering me on as I stumble through life.
- Fill in the blank: I can’t stop listening to…
Movie soundtracks – I am a big movie person. Most of my spending money goes towards going to the movies with my boyfriend (soon to be fiancé) and friends. I love the music that accompanies specific scenes, because to me, the scene wouldn’t fully convey the emotion without the music.
