Getting to Know: Keeping Pace

FINALS ARE OVER, YOU GUYS! I am officially done with my freshman year of college. Crazy, huh? I’m getting back into blogging after a week of being crazy busy by introducing Kate from Keeping Pace!

Getting to Know (2)

What’s your blog’s name, and why? My blog’s name is Keeping Pace; it is a play on words with my last name (Pace). I blog primarily about health, fitness, and my life as a busy wife and new mother, so Keeping Pace is the perfect title for readers who want to “keep the pace” with me!

How long have you been blogging? My blog has been around since 2010, but technically I’ve been blogging right at one year. I played around with my blog for a little while then revisited it in 2013 and still wasn’t serious about it. I came back to it a year ago and have been an avid blogger ever since!

Fill in the blank: When I’m not blogging, I am… spending time with our sweet seven-month-old and husband. I love being a wife and mother to those two! You could also find me spending a little time to myself at my gym then sipping a hot latte or iced coffee at Starbucks.

11196227_845706235496721_7686598513673096978_nWhat’s one thing about your blog that makes you proud? Nothing makes me more proud than to know that people enjoy what I write. People will often comment on Instagram or Facebook to tell me how much they enjoy my blog, and it means so much to me. They probably don’t believe me when I tell them it makes my day, but it really does! It makes me proud to know I’m using one of my talents (writing) to help other people and help contribute financially to our family.

Those who read Always, S can click over to your blog to find…a great post about fitness and health or just life in general. I’d like to think I have a few hilarious new-mom stories up my sleeve 🙂

Three random facts: I am a huge horror/gore fan and could watch scary movies all day. Gifting my friends and family is one of my very favorite things to do. I would love to write a book one day.

Your summer must-haves: SPF 30+. I have light, sensitive skin and must wear sunscreen constantly in the summer sun. A hat for more shield from the sun! A cute water bottle with ice cold water at all times. Nike shorts + big, boxy tank tops. These are fun and easy to thrown on and wear around the house or out and about. Books and magazines; I read a lot, and I especially love reading during the summer when I have more time.

If you had to be stranded on a deserted island with one person who would you want that one person to be? My husband, Eric. He and I are such a good team together, so I know that the two of us could figure a way off the island.

Furthest you’ve traveled from your home? I cruised to Cozumel, Mexico, in 2010. I’m not dying to do it again, but I would love to travel more eventually. I would love to go on a cross country road trip one day, traveling from one coast to the other. I’m ashamed that I haven’t seen as much of America as I would like!

Mountains or beach? Beach. I don’t actually like the sand, but if I’ve got a pool to lay by, I’m good to go!

Your dream job? My dream job is to be a published author and professor at an accredited University… Preferably The University of  Mississippi (Ole Miss for al my SEC fans!) ’m currently studying for my Master’s degree in English and hope to be on my way to my Ph.D shortly thereafter.

Who or what inspires you? Anything, everything, and everyone. I never know when inspiration will hit me, and it often comes so randomly!

Fill in the blank: I can’t stop listening to… old, classic rock. I have fallen in love with rock bands from the 80s by listening to a soft rock station on my radio. I never listened to the radio until I had an hour commute to work in the morning!

Your favorite post from your blog? Diet Another DayThis is my favorite post because it details my struggles with dieting from a young age. It was refreshing to finally get this out there, and I feel like it helped my readers understand me and my journey a little better.

Most recent post? Weekend Recap: Silver Caboose and Family
