Feel Good Stuff + GIVEAWAY!!!

Happy Monday! This summer, there’s so much going on and so little time to stop and think. Its hard to keep any routine going, whether that be exercising, writing in a journal, or something else, when there’s so much fun stuff to do. I can’t tell you the last time I actually worked out and yesterday I ate like crap at a wedding (Chick Fil A nugget trays…I mean, how could I resist). Sometimes, I remember not working out and eating unhealthy foods and I get super insecure and start to feel a little bad. Or there’s a day when I don’t have plans and I feel stuck. Or I wake up in the morning after staying up late and I’m just not a huge fan of anything sunny and happy that day. I’m composed a list of things to help you feed guuuud no matter the season.

1. A killer playlist.

Forreal. Music feeds the soul, and nothing is better than driving in the sun with the windows down and your favorite song blaring. My music taste goes across the board. Right now, I’m loving remixes, Taylor Swift (as always), and MGMT – because who ISN’T obsessed with Electric Feel?

For more sweet sounds, take a look at this playlist:

2. Catch up with friends.

This season is the perfect time to get together with the girl you had a class with in high school (and never really got to know), or the friend that went to college out-of-state, or a family member that’s in town for a short while. Find a cool, new restaurant near you and make some plans!

3. Make a list.

I. Looooove. Lists. If the summer days seem long and you find yourself getting kinda bored, make a to do list. Even if the items on the list aren’t serious and are just for fun – like printing out new pics to hang on your wall, writing a letter to a friend, or painting a canvas – you’ll feel good and you might have a cute new piece of decor to hang 🙂

4. Find inspiring quotes.

I love quotes and I love Pinterest. Combine the two by searching for words that make you smile and keeping them close, like on a piece of paper in your wallet or tucked into jacket pockets.

5. Dress up.

Even if you don’t have a lot to do one day, get up, take a shower, do your hair, and put on makeup. Put on cute clothes, and see how much better you feel! Getting ready and looking your best is such a self-confidence booster. Who cares if you’re just running errands or taking the dog to the park? You’ll look dang good for yourself while doing it! And that’s all that really matters, right?

Speaking of looking good, I’m participating in my first ever giveaway!! One of you lovely readers could win a $60.00 gift card to Sephora, home of all things beauty and glam. Enter by following and interacting with bloggers below, and good luck! 🙂

  • My favorite things to do when I’m feeling depressed are definitely listen to music, look at quotes on Pinterest (always my favorite) and go out somewhere… even if I don’t feel like it! Well, usually my mom drags me. Because otherwise I can stay in bed all day when I’m feeling crappy. It’s hard sometimes!

Same! My mom always knows what to do to make me feel better. And by feel better, usually that means ice cream or something else sweet. Thanks for commenting!

  • Making lists is probably one of my favorite things to do – I love getting everything down on paper! Thanks for sharing your feel good list and the giveaway! xo

Thanks so much for commenting! I love the paper part of lists as well. Phone to-do apps and stuff like that just don’t do it for me. And when you use paper, you get to use colored pens! 🙂

This was perfect!! Love the music selection and who doesn’t love to make a good list?!

I agree – if I’m going to go out somewhere, even if I feel crummy, I usually choose one, my hair or makeup, to do well so it doesn’t look so bad haha thanks for commenting! 🙂

  • I absolutely love these songs!! They are definitely my go to when I’m feeling like I need a boost! Thanks for such a fun post! Love your blog girl!

  • Muuuuuuuuuuuusic. These are some of my favorite songs!

  • This is such a great post and giveaway. Sometimes when you’re feeling down you just need someone else to lay it out for you to get out of your funk. Definitely saving this post for “one of those days.”

    xx. Brittany | Southern Soul

  • Music almost always brings me out of whatever funk I’m in! Great tips!

  • Yay, new songs to listen to! Maybe I’ll even add a couple to my work’s playlist! hehe!

  • Loving all of these tips! I’m a firm believer that the music can set your total attitude. As for lists, I’m a chronic list maker so I can’t help but agree on this. And who doesn’t feel good about themselves when they put forth a little effort to dress up and look nice!

  • Dressing up and a great playlist are my go-to methods of feeling better! And Bad Blood has been on repeat for me!
